Product Reviews
Noisy noisy noisy! They were great in rain but passengers thought I had a bad wheel bearing. Definitely do not recommend because of how loud these are.
Just had a set put on, so I'll come back and update my review in a few weeks. But right out of the shop they handle better, and are a lot quieter than the Hankook HP2's that were OEM on my Sorento.
These tires don't wear well, I had 32,000 miles on these tires and they were down to 4/32, the mileage rating was 70,00 miles. The tires were rotated every 6,000 miles.
Good traction - have driven over ice and snow covered mountain passes and cold wet roads. About 20% tread remaining after 33,156 miles of mixed driving @ 70 mph plus on hot dry abrasive Montana roads, wet cold, snow and city streets. Are the 75,000 miles real miles or "Cooper" miles - there is no way I could get more than 42,500 from these tires and I would never run a bald tire. The little square tread wear thingies went away about 6 months ago @ 27,500. Rolling resistance appears moderate, gas tank gauge goes to empty at a moderate rate. Original equipment were Michelins and they were replaced at 46844. More research needs to be done before spending almost $1,000 for a new set including "Hassle Free Warranty".
These tires replaced Uniroyal Tiger paws. They are far superior in all categories. Wet, Snow, Dry. I bought 2 for the front of my Dodge Journey FWD and will now buy 2 more for the back. Definitely a best buy.
Excellent smooth ride, and handling is superb. Would definitely buy again...providing they hold up on the mileage.
First set had a shimmy at 55. Had a REAL shimmy at 75. Back to the dealer I used. They blamed the car. I got irate and adamantly informed them that that noise and shimmy was from a tire. There was no noise or shimmy when I had the old tires on. They replaced two on the right. Same noise and shimmy. Then they replaced the left front because that's all the tires they had. It was all they needed, problem solved. I'll see how they wear.
I find cooper tires to be great.
These tires are the best value out there. More responsive than the Michelins they replaced and have more grip on the road. Time will tell but so far I'm impressed with my Coopers.
These are pretty good tires. Not all they claim, but we only have the original Goodyear RS - A to compare them to. These Cooper CS5 Ultras are way quieter and smoother riding than the Goodyears. The Coopers also are much better in the wet. However, the Goodyear RSA is a much superior handling tire than the Cooper. There are 2 main problems with the Coopers. One is the handling in the dry. It feels disconnected compared to the Goodyears, like there is a film or a layer between the tire and the road. This is not a good thing. Call it a mushy feeling or disconnected feeling. It's an ok trade off for our Toyota minivan, but I would not do these Coopers on a sport sedan. Also the way it mounted on the rim is weird vs the factory Goodyears, like the rim is too big and the tire is too small as it looks like you see it inside part of the rim which was hidden by the Goodyears. In other words, the Coopers don't seat on the rim like other tires. Overall with 5,000 miles I am pleased with the Coopers, but they are far from perfect tires, like many of these review blush.
The dealer I went to recommended these Coopers based on my vehicle and driving style. They are not only the most reasonably priced tires I have ever bought but also the best tires I've gotten for my Forester since I purchased it.
Not perfect rating since our car is stick, so in the snow there is a little starting traction issues. Otherwise great tires, a lot better than the factory tires.
Bought these tires because of the high wear ratings and because the side walls are smooth. Many other brands have ribs on the side walls that hold dirt and ultimately make the tire look dirty all the time. Owned the tire a couple months and very happy with my purchase.
I had Cooper CS4`s on a previous vehicle, so when our current car needed new tries the first thing I thought of was Cooper tries. I went with the Ultras. Have been satisfied so far. Handling is good, they balanced up well, handled some pretty heavy Snow/Rain with no problems. In fact my wife said they handle 100% better then the Goodyear Eagle LS that we had before on this car. Thus far CS5's were great in the snow and are really quiet on the highway. I would put this on the top of my list again when we need tries on our other vehicle.
Put cooper CS5's on my Nissan. Left the store and traveled down a nearby road. Called back to the store and told them how great the ride and handling was.
Tires are 235/55r19 and replaced OEM Hankook 725's that were near warning indicator at 21k. The Hankooks were smooth at any speed, but were harsh on broken concrete. They would also spin in the wet pretty easy at 21k. I did a lot of research. Michelin's Latitudes were recommended but were more expensive than the Cooper Ultra T at the places I looked. I have driven 1k with the Coopers and I love them. They are much smoother over broken concrete, not harsh at all. They are quiet. They are excellent in the rain. I have had them up to 80mph and they were smooth. My flex is FWD. It was quite easy to spin the tires with the Hankooks. The coopers have been grippy in the wet and the snow/ice. We have not had any deep snow yet, but I think they will be ok for a 19 inch tire. I do think my mpg is down a little. But the Hankooks were like rocks and didn't seem to have any friction. But you need to roll 2k miles or so to really judge. As the miles accumulate, I have noticed the tires seem to be getting better on rolling and traction. As for steering response, I don't think they are as sharp as the Hankooks, but they still are very good. Very nice trade off, as I don't run autocross in my flex. I am very happy with the tires and recommend them to anyone.
Great tires, great traction in snow. Would recommend to another or purchase again.
I have these tires on a couple of my vehicles! absolutely one of the nicest tires out there. Smooth riding and great performance! Good in snow! Life of the tires is also great!
The best tires I ever had on my car.
No snow yet, but better then my cs4, amazing. My opinion, up the psi 1-2 lbs over stock, great!
Outstanding tires. Extremely smooth, quiet ride. Great handling on turns. Highly recommend these tires. This is the 4th set of tires on my Lexus RX330. I've had Michelins, Sumitomo, and Kumhos. These are by far the best overall.
Really pleased. Far superior replacement for OEM Kuhmo's. Quiet, affordable, stable.
